UK Student Visa: Documents Required To Studying Abroad In The UK
Compared to a tourist visa, a student visa requires you to carry a lot more documentation. Aspirants must submit the required documents along with supporting documentation of their academic and financial records. Before going to the consulate for the visa interview, make sure you refer to the UK Student Visa checklist.
Before applying, you will need the following documents for studying abroad in the UK:
- Application form for student visas completed
- An acceptance letter (CAS or Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) and a visa letter will be provided by your approved education provider. These documents represent official and unconditional offers of a place on a study program. It is recommended that the visa letter be issued no later than six months before you submit your application. After receiving their CAS, students must apply for a UK study visa within six months.
- There is no guarantee that your application will be successful simply because you have a visa letter. Applicants must meet all the requirements for the category and any other immigration requirements.
- A proof of funds is required for your first year of study and living expenses for up to 9 months (1 academic year). According to your age and whether you will be studying in London or outside of London, the amount you need will vary. It is necessary for you to show that you have held the money for at least 28 days. Besides, your application must be submitted no more than one month after the end of the 28-day period.
- In order to meet your basic living costs (excluding fees) for up to nine months, you must show the following amount of money. Those living in London must provide £12,006 for nine months (£1,334 per month) as well as £9,207 if they live outside London.
